By 2030, California’s senior population is expected to double to 9 million. With this growth in our senior population and those living with disabilities, we must focus our attention on creating long term solutions that protect long term care.
During his campaign for governor, Gavin Newsom pledged to be a national leader in developing a California plan for long term care, and its growing aging crisis – the coming Silver Tsunami. However, his revised state budget falls far short of that promise. That’s why together, seniors, the disabled and their caregivers are calling on Governor Newsom to make long term care a California priority – now!
Our message to the governor is simple: California needs long term solutions to long term care now!
We’re calling on the Governor to join us by taking steps now that make long term care the California priority it needs to be by taking the necessary steps that demonstrate his commitment to permanent, sustainable, thoughtful long-term solutions to the care crisis facing the elderly and disabled who are cared for primarily through home health services.
