Los Angeles County — SEIU 2015, California’s long term care union representing 385,000 nursing home and home care workers hosted Caregivers Night on Wednesday, April 3 when the L.A.s Clippers played the Houston Rockets at STAPLES Center.
The event was the second time SEIU 2015 hosted a Caregivers Night at a Clippers game to bring attention to the important work that caregivers do. The first Caregivers Night was hosted on January 19, 2019 with the Agua Caliente Clippers.
Over 700 people attended the Caregivers Night even at STAPLES Center, including seniors, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.
“This game was in honor of the vital role the over 100,000 caregivers in Los Angeles County play in our communities,” said Kim Evon, Executive Vice President of SEIU 2015. “It was honor to work with the L.A. Clippers to make this game happen and bring awareness to the fact that Californians are growing older and living longer and the support of home care workers, nursing home workers, and long term care programs is critical to ensure the well-being of our loved ones.”
SEIU Local 2015 members and family greet the players in the fan tunnel before the game.
