Vote YES to Accept Pay Increase Yuba County!

We did it!  SEIU Local 2015 IHSS members in Yuba County have won a new contract that will increase our wages if we vote YES  to accept it.

If we vote YES to accept our new contract, our wages will go up $0.50 with additional increases to follow (see summary below).

You have until November 25th to vote!

You can obtain a ballot and vote in person November 18-23 from 4 pm – 7 pm at the Comfort Inn (1034 N. Beale Rd, Marysville), or at our upcoming Electronic Timesheet Training’s being held on November 22nd (10 am & 12 pm) and November 23rd (10 am, 12, 2 and 4 pm) at the Comfort Inn as well.

Summary of Yuba Tentative Agreement between SEIU Local 2015 and the IHSS Public Authority

This summary represents the substantive changes made in the Memorandum of Understanding.

Victory on Wages

Provider wages in Yuba County will be:

  • $13.00 effective January 1, 2020
  • $13.50 effective as soon as wage supplement is approved*
  • $14.50 effective January 1, 2021**
  • $14.65 one year after the first wage supplement was approved – After the 2nd increase wages will remain $0.65 above minimum wage every time the California Minimum Wage increases

Note:
* The California Department of Social Services needs to approve and implement the new wage, which takes 2-3 months.
**There is a small possibility that the California Minimum Wage increase on 1/1/21 could be delayed, that would not affect our $0.65. We will stay above minimum wage, whatever that rate is.

Health Benefits

With no changes to benefits, we were able to save money and move $0.15 per hour from our Health Benefits to Wages.

  • County benefit contribution goes from $0.60 to $0.45 per hour
  • No changes to benefits

Training and Education Incentive

$2,000 annually to provide training and education incentives

Protective Equipment and Supplies

The Public Authority will make available standard gloves, masks and sanitizers at no charge to providers and consumers who request the supplies (as required by the consumer’s authorized services).

New Provider Orientations

The Union will have the opportunity to make a presentation during the new provider orientations and will not be the last item on the agenda.

Term

The contract takes effect when ratified by the Union and adopted by the Board of the Public Authority. It will remain in full force and effect until December 31, 2022.
