We Care Los Angeles

LASize
On June 16, 2015, home care workers in Los Angeles celebrated a major victory in the fight for a livable wage. After months of rallying at Board of Supervisors meetings, county officials put these vital health care workers on a path to making $15 an hour.

In February 2016, home care workers will see their pay jump from $9.65 to $11 an hour, and to $11.18 the following year. This represents the largest wage increase LA County home care workers have ever received.

While there is still more to be done, SEIU Local 2015 is proud of the resolve our members showed in their efforts to improve the quality of life for all workers in Los Angeles. They were instrumental in securing the historic $15 minimum wage for city and county employees, showing that worker solidarity is essential to growing a vibrant middle class.
