After months of standing strong together, your Monterey County Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with Monterey County Board of Supervisors, running from January 1, 2026 – July 1, 2027. We rallied, we marched, and we made sure that those in power heard us loud and clear.
Now it’s up to YOU, Monterey County IHSS caregivers, to vote and make it official! Your Bargaining Committee recommends a YES vote, but you must vote by October 17, 2025 to lock in these improvements. Only union members can vote.

This agreement represents progress for caregivers, the people we care for, and the future of home care in Monterey County. It moves us closer to our shared vision of Quality Wages for Quality Home Care, a vision we’ve carried loud and proud throughout this campaign.
Key Highlights of the Tentative Agreement, once ratified, will include:
Wage increases!
- $19.64 by January 1, 2026 due to state minimum wage increase ($.40) 🎉
- $20.64 by January 2026, upon State approval ($1.00) *(overtime rate – $30.96/hr) 🎉
- $21.04 by July 1, 2026 wage increase *(overtime rate – $31.56/hr) 🎉
- $21.39 by July 1, 2027 wage increase *(overtime rate – $32.09/hr) 🎉
Health Benefits!
- Secured an additional $0.14 per hour in health benefit funding, making it possible to expand coverage to more providers while also preventing premium increases for those already enrolled.
Strengthened Health & Safety!
- More access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for caregivers through The Public Authority and SEIU 2015.
Other Key Wins!
- 30 minutes of guaranteed union access during orientation for all new IHSS providers.
