Los Angeles, CA – As the nation’s largest long-term care union, SEIU Local 2015 is proud to stand with care workers across the country today—the first day of the first-ever Care Workers Recognition Month. Care Workers Recognition Month highlights the essential workers who care for our loved ones, and recognizes the growing demand for care across the country. We thank President Biden and Vice President Harris for this recognition of the essential nature of long-term care work—and the exploding demand. We hope that this will draw continued attention to our fight for care infrastructure that provides workers with the respect, dignity, and support they need and deserve as we prepare to care for aging Americans. We hope that our contributions over the past three years of the global pandemic are remembered, and we look forward to the future of our movement.
