Caregiver rally temporarily blocks traffic outside San Bernardino County Supervisors meeting
More than 26,000 in-home workers want higher wages, benefits.
San Bernardino County caregivers, their clients and supporters marched through the county government center and into the street calling for higher wages and benefits Tuesday, March 12, as county supervisors met inside.
A couple hundred people, holding signs that read “My Life Depends on Caregivers,” and “Seniors Are Important,” gathered outside the center around 9 a.m. before marching through the lobby, chanting, blowing whistles and banging on metal bowls. They then headed into the intersection of 4th Street and Arrowhead Avenue where they blocked traffic for five to 10 minutes.
