WHO: Long-term care workers from San Bernardino County (members of SEIU 2015); SEIU 2015 Executive Vice President Dereck Smith; San Bernardino County Supervisor Dawn Rowe, and other supporters and allies from the SEIU Local 2015 community.
WHAT:
San Bernardino home care providers—members of SEIU 2015, California’s largest labor union representing nearly 450,000 long-term care workers—will rally to the San Bernardino Board of Supervisors and celebrate for ratifying their new contract on Tuesday, August 8 at 9AM.
WHY:
SEIU Local 2015 is fully dedicated to championing policies that uphold the interests of in-home care providers and their recipients. This includes the provision of fair wages, comprehensive benefits, and ample access to training and professional growth opportunities. Members will express appreciation to the San Bernardino Board of Supervisors for their valuable partnership with IHSS providers. This is the first contract where care providers felt acknowledged for the valuable impact they have on community improvement and the overall welfare of their clients.
